What are the hottest movies you've seen based on either De Sade's life or his writings?

Well, there are not many of those.....
    some porno titles:
    "Marquis De Sade"
    "Anal Palace"

    Some other:

    "Eugenie"
    "Justine"
    "Salo (120 days of Sodom)"
    "Marquis"
-those up to now, I have-

I think there is also one called - "De Sade"...

...well, then there are a "lesser ones," like "Quills"...
I don't bother collecting those...seeing them once is enough.

I've seen most of them, except for Eugenie.

Tell me about it, if you would.

I don't think I've seen the porns, either. I've seen the box for Marquis De Sade - a Rocco Siffredi film, no?

Are the porns any good, or are they just regular porns capitalizing on his name?

"Eugenie" is another movie by Jess Frnaco.
Loosely based on the "philosophy in the bedroom"...
        set in modern times...
Not bad, but I prefer "Justine" more, becouse it had a better look to it.

Yes, Rocco is in the "Marquis De Sade" - porn version.
Those two I've mentioned are pretty good for porno movies, surprisingly with almost as much intellectual value as most of the "regular" movies based on De Sade...

However...they are not the best for the "period" porn, but definately in the top 10.

My favorite "period" porn is - "Gamiani"...the premise could easily fit in any of the De Sade's stories.

I noticed that no one mentioned
Marquis De Sade: Intimate Tales of the Dark Prince

I'll admit to the fact that is was very much a b-movie, but I still thought some of the scene's were hot and well done, even if the acting was pretty bad. I would still recommend it none-the-less. I woudl be interested in finding the porno's that Black mentioned, since I'm always down for a good one, my problem woudl be finding them. I would probably have to order them online I suppose. The good period peice porno also sounded interesting. What is it about Black?

Gamiani is about a rich and dominant woman, who's trying to seduce an innocent virgin girl, and resolve some of her issues about having sex with men.

        Very very very hot!

I think the actress playing Gamiani is by far the best looking porno actress ever.

I don't know much about De Sade but he really intriges me and I have read a couple of his stories. I like them a lot, a lot...
anyway, how close to "real" is the movie "Quills". I loved the movie. I know it is fiction of course - but Geoffry Rush, did he do a good job acting as Marquis de Sade?
I can't wait to watch the other flicks....thanks for all the info.

I recently purchased "Jusine" at the Erotic Museum in Hollywood (which is an interesting destination, if you are in town) and watched the film last Sunday morning, in bed, with popcorn for breakfast. (May as well be decadent when witnessing debauchery, non?)

In any case, it was first released in 1968. Granted, it was undoubtedly quite shocking in its day, but from a contemporary standpoint, it did not stand the test of time well, besides the fact that it bore very little resemblance to the novel.

I am glad that I have it, however, as it is rather a quaint little example of "Bad Cinema" which if any of you recall, was funny sketch in which Dan Akroyd played the snobbish and smarmy host, on SNL aeons ago...

Alright, I'm new here and through my passions for food, sex, lust and pure outrageous gluttony, I found myself watching a film by the name of Vatel. It's truly about Vatel, a chef, however the Marquis makes his appearances and filty little self a hidden attribute to the movie, so much so, I found this place.

I've only seen "Quills", and though I loved the movie, most experts on Sade claim it's very far from the truth. I think though that any people have tried to make the Sade into some kind of woman's man sex god, when in fact he was an overweight slobby pervert. (Not that that's a bad thing, just conjures images nowadays of child molesters and weirdos).

So I think most movies tend to idolize him in other ways. Most people don't see fat slobs as being masters of sex, intimacy and eroticism, though I gurantee those people are usually wrong, and tend to miss out on the good stuff.
